🎤 Creator Spotlight

This month we sat down with Sixtine to learn how to make sustainability feel more lifestyle and less lecture. As a fashion creator, she doesn't lead with climate, but it's woven into everything she does, from thrifting and rewearing clothes to being intentional about the language she uses. Here’s what she had to say:
How did you get into content?
“I started modeling when I was 14, but I didn't want to just be a face in front of a camera. I wanted to have something to say. My content originally centered around body positivity because, as a plus-size model, I saw firsthand how unrealistic beauty standards are. I wanted women to know they don't have to fit into a size-zero mold to be beautiful or worthy.”
How does climate show up in your content?
"I've never been the creator who's like, "Let's talk about climate change today." Instead, it's always been woven into how I live and, naturally, how I create.
I'm really intentional about the language I use. You'll never hear me say, "Run, don't walk!" or tell people they need to buy something. I'll share where something is from if people ask, but I don't want to encourage overconsumption.
Sometimes I'll share thrifted finds instead of affiliate links, or remind people that I've owned a piece for five years and plan to wear it until it falls apart. Sustainability doesn't have to be the headline—it can just be part of your lifestyle."
What's your approach to talking about climate?
"I love the idea of ‘vegan + bacon.’ The idea is that it doesn't have to be all or nothing. You don't have to be zero waste or perfectly sustainable to make a difference.
Maybe you thrift more often. Maybe you swap paper towels for reusable cloths. Maybe you just buy less. Those small actions matter, and I think they're much more realistic than expecting everyone to be perfect.”
What advice would you give creators?
"Look at what you're already doing. If you're a fashion creator, mention that your outfit is thrifted. If you're showing your home, highlight a sustainable swap you love. Start small. The little moments are what make sustainability feel like a lifestyle instead of a lecture.”
What's giving you hope?
“I'm encouraged that audiences are starting to expect more. People are paying attention to what's happening in the world, and they're asking creators to do the same.
I don't think we need to shame each other into caring. I think we need to encourage each other to do a little better every day.
At the end of the day, I try to ask myself one question: How can I leave this planet, this community, and the people around me a little better than I found them?”

Another heat wave swept across Europe and the US. In Germany, it got so hot that the tram tracks melted, and the last 11 years have been the 11 hottest on record.
🥵 Prompt: Pick one everyday thing that the heat makes hard (dog walking, running errands, exercising) and explain why hotter summers are becoming our new normal.
2. Chat, you're kinda an energy hog.
As heat waves push air conditioners into overdrive across the country, AI searches rely on data centers that consume huge amounts of electricity.
⚡ Prompt: Pull back the curtain on the hidden infrastructure behind something your audience might use every day.
3. Climate change doesn't care if it's game day
From dangerous heat in Miami to lightning delays in Philly, extreme weather is becoming part of the world cup.
