📰 Climate News & Prompts

1. How much is our health worth?

In the chaotic start to 2026, you might have missed that the EPA said business health matters more than human health when setting air pollution limits. Huh? 💀

Lean into dark comedy calling out how the irony is as thick as the smog in our air.

2. Have you met Coalie the coal mining mascot?

You read that correctly. A lump of coal named “Coalie” is the latest attempt to make coal more appealing (with googly eyes…).

We all know that coal’s polluting our air and is highly unpopular, so this is your chance to roast Coalie as you see fit.

3. But what about all the snow?

Two opposites can be true at the same time! Even though our planet’s getting hotter, our winters are also getting more intense. Truly a wardrobe nightmare.

Bundle up and venture out into the snow as you talk about how crazy these weather swings really are.

🎤 Creator Real Talk

If you have a hard time understanding “legalese” or the rule of law, you’re not alone. That’s where Ugo Lord can help. Ugo’s a licensed attorney who democratizes his legal expertise in ways that regular people can understand.

We sat down with this modern attorney and asked him how he creates content blending law and climate. Here’s what he shared:

Q: Why did you start creating content?

I'm in a different space when it comes to becoming a content creator. I'm in the education space and I've always been an educator. I've been a lawyer now for over 13 years. But about seven years ago, I became a law professor. And I've always believed in the power of education.

Q: What keeps you creating content today and have you heard from followers how your work has impacted their lives?

It's hearing that if I can positively positively affect one person, it's the reason why I do it. And more than that, most importantly, especially for me, access to legal information usually is very expensive. And because it's expensive, it becomes a barrier to entry where individuals that have means and have financial ability to pay for that legal advice will be able to access it, whereas individuals that may not have access to those types of finances will not have access to it. Social media levels the playing field.

Q: How do you see climate showing up in culture right now?

“There are so many legal videos where I'm discussing climate without even realizing it. When we talk about the billions of dollars that we pay as taxpayers because of climate events, it has everything to do with the law. By bringing my audience’s attention to it, we can actually affect policy. The more that people at home care about what's happening in their neighborhood, planet and the world, the more our elected officials will care about it too.

It's so interesting because this concept of climate change has become political, right? It's become a trigger word, right? If you talk about everything that has to do with climate change and you do not say the words ‘climate” and “change,’ it has a dramatically different impact than the moment that those words are used. It’s because they've been politicized. They've been armed. They've been used as a trigger word.”

Q: How does your audience react to you when you create climate-related content?

Based on the people’s reaction, it kind of tells me what is happening with America. There is this affordability crisis that’s happening with America right now. And people don’t exactly know who or what is to blame. But the fact of the matter is that there are multiple factors contributing to the affordability crisis.

Climate is a major component of that because it’s increasing the costs across the board. And so the reaction is skepticism. But then there’s another facet which is understanding the reality of it. Either way, with both sides, there’s a lack of what people can do about it. There’s this feeling of helplessness.”

Q: What would your recommendation be for a creator who is hesitant to talk about climate change on social media?

“Any content, regardless of what niche you’re in, already has a climate component in it. The first thing a creator can do is ask: ‘How does climate impact my niche?’

Once a creator answers how climate impacts the type of content they make, the next step is deciding whether they want to be overt or more covert. Climate can still be implemented in all of our content. It’s just a matter of deciding how you want to have that relationship with your audience.

There shouldn’t be a fear of climate. There shouldn’t be a fear of talking about the facts of the world we live in today. I think the fear comes from not wanting to be seen as political. But climate is not a political issue. It’s a fact issue. It affects us every single day. The more normal you and I make climate as part of our content, the more normal it will feel to the audience hearing it, discussing it, and making changes in their lives.

❤️ Community Content

We scrolled so you don’t have to. Here are a few posts that covertly or overtly spoke to climate this month:

The key to speaking up? Honesty (and btw, immigration is a climate story)

Gorgeous, gorgeous girls love (trash) soup

When personal wellness 🤝 planetary wellness

That’s it for this month. As always, take what resonates, leave the rest, and make it your own. We love seeing how you turn these ideas into content that feels human, honest, and genuinely fun to watch. Can’t wait to see some of you online and IRL very soon!

With gratitude,
